M31 The andromeda Galaxy - B Kingsley

The great galaxy in Andromeda. At a distance of nearly 3 million light years this is the furthest object that can be seen without optical equipment.
It is a huge galaxy containing billions of stars and is not dissimilar to our own galaxy - The Milky Way.
The 2 sattelite galaxies M32 and NGC 205 can be seen also.
A little over 7 hours exposure time for this image over 3 nights.
Imaged through 10 inch Newtonian telescope and 80 mm refractor using a modified canon eos 1000d and light pollution filter.

Typically cloudy when you dont need it to be. Was hoping to see Saturn last nite and watch the transit of the moons. Wasnt to be with blanket cloud stopping play !
Here's a recent image of the crater Deslandres. The conditions were far from perfect but the result came out well.
One thing that strikes me about this crater is the different shades in the basalt lava on the crater floor.
this image was made of approximately 15000 frames stacked together and is definately my best to date of this crater ¬!

Ok its cloudy today but hoping that it clears for later. There is a rare occasion tonight to see four moons of Saturn crossing infront of the disk.
I,m off to Sir patrick moore's to hopefully view this celestial event.
Good luck if your going to observe this and heres hoping for a clear sky !!

The great globular cluster M13 in the constellation of Hercules. Inhabitants here would have a sky full of Suns ! Some would be bathed in perpetual light !
I believe that in the future our species will travel to the stars.

I also believe that it is important to look where you are going !
